A Book Burning Celebration - This is not a joke.
I thought I have seen it all but I guess I have not.
I received an email inviting me to a Book Burning on Halloween. Here is part of the email.
COME TO OUR HALLOWEEN BOOK BURNING. WE ARE BURNING SATANS BOOKS. WE WILL BE BURNING ALL BIBLES THAT ARE NOT THE ORIGINAL 1611 KJV VERSION.
WE WILL ALSO BE BURNING SATANS MUSIC. WE WILL BURN ALL CHRISTIAN MUSIC THAT INCLUDES STYLES LIKE COUNTRY, WESTERN, JAZZ, SOUL, OLDIES, ETC.
WE WILL ALSO BE BURNING SATANS POPULAR BOOKS WRITTEN BY HERETICS LIKE BILLY GRAHAM RICK WARREN, JOHN MACARTHUR, JAMES DOBSON, CHARLES SWINDOLL, TONY EVANS ETC.
WE WILL BE SERVING BAR-B-QUE CHICKEN, FRIED CHICKEN AND ALL THE SIDES
IF YOU HAVE ANY BOOKS OR MUSIC TO DONATE FOR THE BURNING, PLEASE CALL US FOR A PICKUP OR YOUR CAN DROP THEM OFF AT OUR CHURCH DOOR ANYTIME.
THE SCRIPTURE THAT WE ARE USING TO GIVE US AUTHORITY FOR THIS BURNING IS FOUND IN ACTS 19-18-20
"And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed."

I think this is taking it a bit too far. I can agree that the KJV IS THE ENGLISH BIBLE GOD HAS BLESSED AND USED. CHARLIE MEEK

Sometimes I wonder! God's grace is enough, what they choose to do is between them and the Lord. At the end of the day they will have to give an account to the Lord God Almighty as we all will. Just a thought!

I have heard about 30 Billy Graham messages and read about 5 of his books, I have listened to Dr. James Dobson's radio program "Focus On The Family" while driving to work for the past 10 years, I have John Macarthur's New Testament Commentary set. I dont know why anyone would want to burn their material, especially if it contains the gospel of Jesus Christ. Sounds kind of crazy.

So would they burn the original writings that were used to write the KJV? Not to mention that they are using the scripture out of context, as many do.

What makes this even crazier is the name of the church, Amazing GRACE? Maybe they should try showing a little.
