On January 12th, we had an amazing day visiting Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in the village of Pillado with Glen Haven Missions Work Team - Team Impact. The previous week, Team Impact put a new roof on the church so we decided to celebrate! The guys bought pizza for the whole congregation. They were so happy! Some said they had not eaten pizza in two years and one little boy said this is only the second time he’s had it: he had it for Christmas and that day. Everyone got food bags and the kids got candy too!
On the other hand, we visited a home that broke our hearts. You can’t even call it a home. Notice the last few pictures of this post. The family had plastic wrapped around the trees and they had 2 ripped and tattered hammocks hanging from the trees. They are a couple with three kids. The husband works in the fields. Their situation is one of the worst we’ve ever seen. We gave them a couple of food bags, hygiene bags and anything else we could find and then we had prayer with them. We’re thankful that God led us to them to show them a little bit of His love. We, along with Team Impact, want to regroup and see what else we can do to help them.
We’re grateful to Team Impact for their heart to work and to serve! They are definitely making an impact here in Honduras!
