A Sweet Desire for God's Word

This elderly man showed up at our mission center in San Marcos de Colon asking for a Bible. He said he didn’t need glasses to read and he really wanted to read the Bible.

We are touched by the fact that this man got up and purposefully went out to look for a Bible because he was hungry for God’s Word.

This man walks an hour every day to the mountain to cut down palm trees to make handmade brooms. He sells these for $0.80 a piece. That’s how he makes a living.

When Karen from our staff, handed him a Bible, he wouldn’t put it in his sack he was carrying around, but put it inside his shirt to keep it safe and clean.

This was a good reminder for us to always seek out God’s Word and to hold it close to our hearts.
