Today we celebrated the life of one of our students, 9 year old Maynor. He had a brain tumor and despite going through chemo treatments and many difficult procedures, he never stopped singing for the Lord. He absolutely loved to sing and worship and he did it any chance he could.
He loved his school so much that his mom asked to have his funeral at our school auditorium. It was an honor for us to host his life celebration. In his short life, God used Maynor to teach us a lesson. No matter what hardships we go through in this life, we must NEVER stop singing and NEVER stop worshiping! Maynor came to a point where his brain tumor was so big, it was making his eye bulge out from his face. All he would do is put some sunglasses on, pick up the microphone and sing to the Lord. We thank the Lord for giving us Maynor to teach, to love on, to serve, and to learn from. Because ministry is all about relationships, it is heart-wrenching when we have to see them go, especially a child. However, knowing where he went makes it all worthwhile! “At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:1-4 |
