 Happy Spring! A couple of weeks ago, we woke to beautiful and rare March snow. Winter wants to hang around a little longer, even though we have had temperatures near 80 over the last few weeks. The flowers and trees are in full bloom and Spring is officially here. Springtime in Christian radio usually means Spring Share-a-thons. I can think of two particular Christian radio stations in the USA who are having their Share-a-thons this week. This is a good time to remind you that just like Christian radio here in the States depends on donations from listeners, Samaritan Radio Network is also depending on your donations and praying for more monthly supporters. The two hardest aspects of a Share-a-thon is: 1) how to get people to make the call; and 2) how to get the ones that called to follow through with their pledge. This morning, the radio host was challenging the listening audience to be one of the first ten to give their gift. If the listener called in with a donation/pledge, there was a matching gift that would double the pledge to help reach their goal. The station does this because they know that most people are like me - well-meaning, but if I don’t do it at that moment, I probably won’t remember to do it later. Maybe that was you at the end of last year. You read our letter and kept reminding yourself to give, but you never took the time to go online to do so. Well, here is another opportunity for you to help Samaritan Radio Network. This means that another station in the area is broadcasting in the space that we are not using, and the message of this world is heard instead of the message of Hope through Christ. The great news is that God has provided the money to purchase a new FM transmitter that can meet our needs for many years to come! It will operate more economically and will be easier to maintain.
